All golfers are welcome to enjoy the challenge of our 9 hole, par 32 course which is 2200 yards in length.
It has been designed to a very high standard and owing to its free draining
nature is playable all year round. Whatever your reason for a round, you
will certainly appreciate the many features which have been retained from
the original, naturally undulating parkland.
There
are so many good holes on the course that it is difficult to know where
to begin. But the most exciting stretch, would be from the fourth through
to the eighth. The fourth is a par-4 of 348 yards from the tee to a plateau
green. One can only see the top of the flag from the tee and has problems
on all sides. In fact, the green is adequate and accommodating for a good
shot. But it has to be good.
For the fifth, you climb onto
a high tee which gives you magnificent views of the River Clyde and
the Argyle shire hills beyond, a gentle par three but should not be
taken lightly. The sixth is a straight away par-4 measuring 290 yards
down hill, hitting to a large elevated green for your second shot.
The seventh is a bit old-fashioned but very nice, a dogleg right it measures 313 yards
your tee shot has to be hit well enough for you to see the green, failing
that you have to contend with the large trees that fall short of the
corner.
And so to the eighth (the gully)
this 91 yard par three has witnessed the downfall of many a nine hole
scorecard, full concentration is required for the execution of this
PITCH SHOT
To finish your nine hole round,
another par three, 218 yards probably your best shot of the day is
required to catch this long green. You can afford a bit of slackness
on the ninth.....if you dont mind three-putting!
The (wee course) is considered
to offer a good challenge to players of all handicaps.
