• Pitchmark Initiative

  • In order to raise the awareness and create general interest and discussion amongst members for the need to reduce the number of pitchmarks which go unrepaired, the following initiative is being introduced.

All members have been allocated a hole which could be termed to be ‘their responsibility’.

On a purely voluntary basis and entering into the spirit of trying to keep the course at an acceptable level, a member’s duties for that particular hole would be to repair any pitchmarks they find, maybe pick up litter or even replace divots. This would be done during the course of their round. That does not mean that they ignore other parts of the course.

At the end of the season, the members who own the hole which has been selected as that which was the best maintained, will have their names put into a draw for a reasonable prize (Pro V1 golf balls).

Obviously members are not forced to comply, but, to repeat, it is only a bit of fun to raise awareness in keeping the greens and course to a standard.
